Christmas Lunch with Mike Summerbee - Thursday 16th December 2010
Kick off your Christmas and join Manchester City football legend Mike Summerbee and guests for an afternoon of merriment, food and entertainment.
In the first half enjoy a drinks reception in the Commonwealth Suite with live music from Abi Walker - vocalist and pianist, followed by a traditional Christmas menu in the Citizens Suite. Two comedians will then hopefully have you in stitches, Mick Miller and Gary Marshall.
Mick got his big break on ITV's "New Faces" which was the premier talent show of its day. He became a household name when he was a regular on ITV's "The Comedians" and has continued to work solidly ever since. He is one of the most in demand after dinner comedians in the UK, and is a firm favourite on the live cabaret circuit.
Gary is a third generation Yorkshire comedian. He has worked the length and breadth of the UK, as well as entertaining the troops in Germany, Holland, Dubai, Muscat and Cyprus. Gary's favourite avenue of the business is the sportsman's after dinner circuit, where he is always brilliantly received. Gary had spoken at most of the top football clubs in the country. In 1999, he received the accolade of Comedian of the Year.
In the second half after the comedians, John Lavelle takes centre stage with a live male trio, singing songs from the Rat Pack era, rounding off a fantatsic day of entertainment.
